Description
The 3R799 packing is made from pure interlocked carbon yarns and is impregnated with a lubricant and graphite particles which fill voids and block leakage. The end product has a low coefficient of friction and tends to wear more evenly than most braided packing.
Applications
In service, it seats quickly and does not require extensive break-in adjustments. The 3R799 is commonly used for high speed pumps, blowers, dryers, high temperature valves and furnace gasketing. It handles water, steam, boiler feed and aqueous solutions of acids and alkalis.
